Story

Nothing can dim the light that shines from within

-Maya Angelou

Jen was an actor and fitness enthusiast living in Los Angeles. The birth of her twins brought her back to the DC area to be closer to family and was looking for something different to add to her routine. She found yoga initially as something to add to her fitness regiment but instantly fell in love and started practicing regularly. She was drawn not only to the physical practice but the mental and spiritual practice as well. Being someone who has held a mindful mindset being in the yoga studio with the yoga community was like coming home. Yoga has brought a sense of peace, clarity and strength.

Jen's classes are playful and flowing with emphasis on alignment, breath and strength. She hopes to lead her students to a place where they can explore postures with ease and playfulness while becoming stronger than they imagined and finding peace within themselves on and off the mat.

She is a 200 E-RYT trained at Village Yoga and 300-RYT with Brihony Smith and Aligned Yoga.

To begin, we let go

To begin, we let go. We let go of our thoughts, our old scripts, our expectations, our darkness. The solution is not to fight but let go. We let go of everything and hold on to nothing. Over and over again, on the mat and off, we let go. This letting go is like a purification. It’s like dropping a pebble into a pond, the ripples slowly growing to encompass our every waking moment. In our letting go we create a space where health and grace will move into. We begin to live with joyful awareness.
